Summer Vaction 2013 #6

Getting through Kansas is brutal!  So flat and boring!  We saw a lot of oil rigs and a lot of windmills.  Jaylee loved the windmills.  She called them 'puppies".  She would watch out her window whenever we saw them. which was a lot.  I did not take any pics of our hotel but it was really nice and we had the pool all to ourselves!  We actually showed up at the hotel we had reservations with only to see a sign saying their pool was closed, the front desk was kind enough to call around and get us a better room with with a better rate at a different hotel.  It worked out really well.

 Finally Missouri!
We went to the visitors center in Independence.
It was really neat to finally be in MO, we all had fun!
This spiral chapel is across the street from the visitors center, very pretty.

 The girls!
 Independence visitors center.
Kansas city Temple.  So pretty and peaceful.

Liberty Jail.  Such a spiritual place.  It was so neat to take our girls there and hear the story of Liberty Jail.  I know my testimony and appreciation grew for Joseph Smith.  The feeling there is almost tangible.  It is very sad but spiritual.

These are DJ Bawdin sculptures.  Always neat to see his work.  The missionaries loved the girls.  It was a neat experience.
Our destination is coming next!  Onto Joplin!!!
