Brylee gets her ears pierced!

This is how it went, Brylee was more scared of the marker than the piercing gun.  Then she held her breath and squeezed her eyes shut.
They pierce her ears, she takes a sharp breath in and says, "that didn't hurt!"  And laughed.  Not one tear from this tough girl.
Then she says, don't tell dad I want to surprise him!
Then she poses and shows off her new heart earrings. She did such a great job.  They look adorable.  So far so good.

One FUN day!

We had quite the adventure on Saturday.  BYUI invited us for an employee appreciation day up at Badger Creek.  First we totally went the wrong way so we got to tour a new place that lead us no where but that's ok, it was pretty.  We finally made it to Badger Creek and the first thing the girls wanted to do was ride horses.  We couldn't do the trail ride because we weren't allowed to ride doubles and we all know Jaylee can't ride her own horse so the girls just did corral rides.  They had fun but I can tell they are getting past the point of that being very exciting.  They want to have more freedom with the horses.  But either way they had a good time.

Our 2nd adventure of the day was a canoe ride.  Let me tell you getting 4 squirmy kids to hold still on a canoe ride may seem hard to most but besides Jaylee, our girls were like statues!  They saw a boy capsize his canoe before we started so they were SO still it was amazing.  Jaylee just wanted in the water and luckily she doesn't weigh enough to tip us.  It was nice but a little intense just thinking of what could happen.  But we did it, we got on, rode around and got off without anyone getting wet.  I think that is AMAZING!  I didn't take our camera for fear of tipping so we only have before pics.

The girls got to watch a fun way of fishing.  They had a family reunion going on so this was for them and the one that was for BYUI didn't start until after the rain came so they didn't actually get to do it, but they liked watching.  They dumped a bunch of fish in this pool and kids got in and tried to catch their own fish with their hands and then they got to grill their fish for lunch.  I am ok that our girls just watched because I don't love the smell of fishy hands and none of us would have eaten one anyway.  They also got to have their face painted.
They had a ropes course with a zip line, rock wall climbing and a giant swing.  When we went over to check it out the rain really started so we went to the van and had a picnic lunch inside hoping it would stop but it didn't so we decided to drive to Jackson since we were already 1/2 way.  This is Glenn and Jaylee watching the giant swing.

On our way to Jackson we got stuck behind a truck and trailer that went SUPER slow and kept hitting their brakes.  Unfortunately our brakes over heated because of that.  Oh well, live and learn. Got new front brakes today so that we are ready for our trip to MO.  Anyway we had fun touring Jackson and taking funny pictures.

 McKenna and Benjamin Franklin
 Brylee and Christopher Columbus
 Einstein....
AJ and her birthday buddy, Abe Lincoln.

 Jaylee and Mark Twain.

Seriously, people have so much talent!  All these statues were amazing.  We also got o watch an artist drawing and painting and Indian.  Brylee was fascinated!
On our way back we kept looking for somewhere to eat but decided the best priced place would be in town so we went to The Hickory.  It was yummy!  Then we went home and watched a movie.  Full day!  I love making memories as a family!
 What a fun day!

A little blurry but this is Jaylees scrunch face that she makes all the time.  So funny.

How we spent our 24th of July

We decided to get up early and go for a family hike on Cress creek trail.  It was AWESOME!  It was our first real hike as a family, well we did R Mountain a few years ago, but this was the first one with just us.  We had a great time.  It was pretty easy but hard enough to be a challenge for the kids.  Snoop loved it.  We played in a little stream, had trail mix, had fun together and enjoyed the views.  Definitely on our list if things to do again, soon.  The first 1/2  a mile is wheel chair accessible plus there are a lot of stops with benches on the way up, so my goal is to get my whole family to go.  Mom, dad, Joy and Diezel! Fun like a game!
Jaylee loved her little backpack.  That thing is so cool!

 (AJ took this picture!)

 Check out that view!

As we were trying to get a picture AJ started freaking out that something bit her, and than again and again.  She was in panic mode.  I lifted up her shirt and sure enough a black ant thing with wings flew out.  She had quite a few bites but I put porta salve on and she was good in no time, that stuff is amazing (amazingly smelly too...) Brylee sat in the mud so we put on the extra pants we brought for McKenna, panties were still wet though.
Ha ha skinny little wet bum!

By the time we got to the bottom Jaylee was out! Later at home I started calling McKennas name and could not find her anywhere.  She fell asleep behind our giant recliner.  We were all worn out.  But it was a very good day.  We all enjoyed the outing.
